Make the complex clear.
A trading workflow or research trail only helps when someone can see what it means and where to go next.
The person behind the work
I'm Tom. A builder, brand thinker, and someone who likes a good question almost as much as a good answer.
Tom, away from the slide deck.Today, I'm the Director of Product & Brand at TradersPost. My work connects the product we build with the story we tell and the experience people have along the way.
Before this chapter, I led operations at a Canadian marketing company and worked as a lead developer at a web agency. Those roles put me close to the technical details, the bigger picture, and the people trying to make it all work together.
I also spent four years doing stand-up comedy and producing live shows. It taught me a different kind of listening: paying attention to an audience, finding the point of a story, and knowing when to get out of the way.
That curiosity takes me beyond product work. The Moon Is Weird is where I follow strange lunar stories back to their sources. It might seem far from trading automation, but both ask how people find their way through a complicated subject.
The common thread is people. Understanding what matters to them, making complicated things clearer, and creating something worth their attention.
That's what this space is for: a fuller picture of the person behind the work.
How I try to show up
A trading workflow or research trail only helps when someone can see what it means and where to go next.
The source behind a claim, the label on a button, the final handoff: small choices shape whether people trust the whole.
A question about the Moon became an editorial project. Curiosity belongs in the work, even when it takes me somewhere unexpected.
The projects give those ideas somewhere to live.
